Wake Forest launched its fully Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in 2020 and is seeking adjunct faculty to support its continued growth. The online MBA program is designed to provide flexibility and convenience for working professionals to obtain market-relevant business skills and accelerate their careers, while upholding the highest levels of educational excellence.

Course Description: Behavior and Leadership in Organizations

Organizational behavior focuses on the understanding of employee behaviors and attitudes that ultimately contribute to organizational success or failure. The study of organizational behavior attempts to identify critical organizational factors that influence workers, the processes by which these factors exert their influence, and ways of applying this knowledge within organizations. The course is based on principles of scientific inquiry and knowledge from the behavioral sciences. All managers have traditionally been held accountable for influencing their employees' levels of job satisfaction, absenteeism, turnover, and performance. The focus here is on understanding current managerial approaches, models, and methods for influencing these critical outcomes. The course covers individual, interpersonal, and organizational influences on organizational effectiveness. The course has both synchronous and asynchronous components through hands-on collaboration with faculty, staff, and instructional designers. Students meet face-to-face in a virtual classroom environment every other week over an academic term, providing them the opportunity to reinforce coursework materials, apply academic concepts, and participate in focused discussions with faculty and colleagues.

Faculty Qualifications:

  • Doctorate (PhD) in Organizational Behavior or Industrial/Organization Psychology
  • 5+ years of experience in university-level teaching (graduate level, online experience preferred) and/or
  • 10+ years of industry experience

Compensation for teaching a 3.0 credit course= $5,000

Job Type: Part-time
