Regis College seeks a certified and energetic adjunct lecturer starting January 18, 2022 for Women’s Self Defense and/or Intro to Martial Arts physical activity classes at the Regis College campus in Weston, MA. The classes typically run one evening a week for 1.5 hours in the fall or spring semester. Instructor must be knowledgeable of correct techniques and safety, as well as able to instruct college students with minimal previous skill in self-defense. Instructor is responsible for leading class, tracking student progress, and submitting grades at the end of each semester.


  • Appropriate certification related to self-defense or martial arts
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community
  • Ability to lead classes, demonstrate movements, and provide verbal and non-verbal feedback
  • Ability to access fitness area which includes climbing stairs
  • Ability to use computer to take attendance, track student progress, and enter final grades
  • BA or BS degree preferred but not required if certified in specific instructional area

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
  • May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
